The War on Iran Is an Imperialist War of Corporate Aggression
A single F-16 Fighting Falcon jet fighter costs eight to ten million United States dollars to operate per year, without factoring in upgrades or munitions expended in combat. The United States Air Force operates approximately 850 of these war machines in total. Air superiority is even more crucial to the United States military doctrine than it was for that of Nazi Germany.
The American Government’s Cause For War Against The Iranian People Is A Needle-Thin Facade
The Donald Trump administration has long claimed that the Iranian military capacity has been crippled, its leadership has been destroyed under the brutal firepower of the United States Air Force and Navy, and unconditional Iranian surrender is just around the corner. The actual course of events has proven this not to be the case. Despite numerous peace talks, the Strait of Hormuz continues to be disputed territory, American military power continues to be challenged to lethal effect, and the United States continues to make threats against the Iranian people and state that have not yet been substantiated.
We have no evidence that the Iranian people are interested in surrendering to the American imperialist forces, nor do we have evidence that they are interested in rebellion against their government for any supposed tyranny. The American government has called the violent destruction of the Iranian government in favor of a more corporate-friendly administration “regime change”, and while the letter of the statement is true, the spirit of it is nothing but outright deception.
Continuing its pathetic, long-standing existence as the world’s largest paper tiger, the United States has failed to break the Iranian morale. Despite spending roughly one-hundred billion United States dollars, and sending seventeen members of their own armed forces to their deaths, with four-hundred thirty wounded as a direct result of Iranian retaliation, the situation in Iran is not yet conclusive. Iran is reported to still hold possession of enriched uranium needed to bring electrical power to their economy, and develop the nuclear weapons arsenal necessary to protect their people from aggressive enemy operations of exactly the nature and magnitude we have seen thus far.
The United States Has Laid Down American Working Class Lives to Enrich Oil Companies
This is nothing new for the bewilderingly contemptible United States government. Military invasion and political subversion for the purpose of procuring foreign oil has been American policy for decades. The ruling class which pulls their puppet strings has direct incentive to lobby for continued imperialist aggression against third-world powers such as Iran.
Seventeen members of the United States military have perished in this conflict, but thousands more have had their lives taken from them in the wars of aggression waged against the Republic of Iraq under the Saddam Hussein administration. The country had nationalized oil industry to cease the expropriation of their own people they suffered because of private capital encroaching on their economic wellbeing.
The Republic of Iran had closed off the Strait of Hormuz as a direct retaliatory measure against American and Israeli attack on their military, energy, and research and development infrastructure. The supposed grounds for this have been presented as a supposed mental derangement of the entire nation of Iran, with the result being a direct threat of nuclear harm to the state of Israel, but Iran has no incentive to wager its own existence on the fallacious idea that the nations of the world would not respond with lethal force to such wanton, reckless cruelty against the Jewish state.
The United States Navy Continues to Act as a Privateer Armada
The Donald Trump administration has proposed a toll to be taken from every freight ship passing the strait, to the amount of 20% of the value of the cargo stored in each ship. This laughable attempt to mitigate the national debt and rescue President Donald Trump’s tarnished public image has been shot down by his own executive staff. The United States government has opted to seek foreign subsidy for its imperialist pirate escapades in international waters in the form of arms deals, contributions to “maritime-security operations” in the Middle East, and other such underhanded measures.
This would not be the first time the Donald Trump administration has attempted to open foreign money and resources through gunboat diplomacy and outright international piracy. The people of Venezuela had to suffer the United States Navy seizing their maritime oil shipments. This was to enforce unilateral trade sanctions imposed on the country for its non-servile position to the United States and its allies. Countries such as Iran and Russia have suffered economically from the Donald Trump administration’s flagrant disregard for international law in service to its domestic oil cartels.
Although largely united in their contempt for this violation of international law, the western powers in the United Nations were feeble and spineless in their opposition to the leading member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization of which they are constituent members. These European nations are bound by the same rules and incentives as the United States itself to prostrate themselves before the private interests of large corporate institutions.
Israel’s Contribution Is Not Self-Defense
Israel continues its own imperialist oppression of the Palestinian Arab peoples of the West Bank and Gaza. Because Israel has employed their military to block ports in Gaza, preventing international aid from reaching the Gaza Strip, millions of Palestinian people face starvation. Iran has funded militant groups in and around the area in order to combat Israel, an active participant in American imperialist aggression against third-world countries in the Middle East, a tendency they have attempted to justify by calling every non-Jewish state nearby it a threat to its very existence. Although this statement does have some historical precedence, and nobody in their right mind would argue that Israel should be stripped of the right to defend itself from outside aggression, that doesn’t make the crimes they commit against humanity on behalf of the United States government and its corporate masters excusable. It is difficult to argue that Israeli air strikes against Iranian infrastructure contribute meaningfully to the security of its nation or the safety of its public.
It could be argued more effectively that these acts of violent servility to the American capitalist class drive such victimized peoples as the Arab Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrians to act aggressively against it. The Israeli people pay taxes to their government and perform compulsive military service to facilitate acts of aggression that do nothing but serve private corporate interests abroad against their neighbors.
The Israeli government’s involvement in the offensive has cost their people approximately thirty-five billion shekels, or eleven-point-five billion dollars, in the first forty days alone, in combined military and civilian compensation cost. They have also lost several dozen military personnel, and thousands of civilians have been injured by Iranian retaliation, including a few deaths. This is a poor argument for the Israeli attack against Iranian energy and logistics infrastructure as a means of safeguarding their own national security.
The Only Class That Suffers Is the Working Class
Neither the American nor the Israeli governments suffer from this criminal act against a sovereign state. They send young men and women to do battle with the Iranian people with no accountability to the publics of their respective nations, and full accountability to the oil cartels which fund election campaigns in the United States, and as a result, drive American foreign policy. Israel is dependent on the United States for financial aid, and therefore beholden to serve American corporate interests.
The oil cartels themselves do not suffer from the increased cost per-gallon of oil caused by Iranian interference with maritime passage through the Strait of Hormuz. They don’t mind their taxes being spent on imperialist aggression against foreign countries if the results are ultimately profitable to them. Indeed, it can be argued that this confronts them as a business investment, rather than an obligation to the public.
Only the laboring masses in these countries suffer from this joint military operation. The increased per-barrel cost of oil is passed down to them. It is expressed not only in higher refueling costs for their vehicles, but an overall inflation of the currency as higher freight costs for every industry are ultimately passed down to them. Members of the working class are forced to lay down their lives in violent action against a sovereign state in service to the very same ruling class that passes the increased cost of this necessary article of consumption onto them. The public is forced to pay for its own expropriation in money and blood.
Iran Deserves a Public Apology and War Reparations for Imperialist Crimes Against Their People
There is no convincing argument that the Iranian government or people have any intention to attack Israel with nuclear weapons. This idea that Iran has any less of a right to nuclear weaponry than America or Israel because of some institutionalized, collective mental illness in the Iranian state is a farcical lie. The joint American-Israeli military strike against Iranian energy and logistical infrastructure vindicates the correct notion that the safety of the Iranian people and their sovereignty is threatened by their lack of a nuclear arsenal. If Iran had been allowed to develop nuclear weapons, they would have had an effective deterrent against this expensive imperialist aggression against their country that only intends to serve private corporate interests in the United States of America, at the expense of the laboring masses in every country involved.
Donald Trump’s buffoonish statements concerning the supposed broken state of the Iranian military, and those concerning the alleged discontent the Iranian people have against their own government, serve only to prove the Donald Trump administration’s unwavering commitment to pigheaded, deceitful, pompous servitude to large capital at the expense of the very people it claims to represent. There is as much democracy in America as there is fertile soil in the Sahara Desert.
For the United States, therefore, to apologize to the Iranian people for all the world to witness, withdraw all military forces from the area, and pay reparations to the Iranian government for all the carnage and waste they’ve inflicted on the country, would be completely devoid of shame or embarrassment to the American people. It would be less expensive, and in fact less humiliating, for the American people to pay for Iran to rebuild their economy than it would be to continue to finance the United States government’s continued assault against a sovereign state with as much right to self-determination as any other.
